Yesterday I drove along the South shore to pick up Yogiji from the Sail Loft studio in Hubbards. I had never picked up a guest from so far away before, but this was a special occasion. Yogi Yogendra Mishra has been busy teaching in different countries since he left his home in Rishikesh, India five months ago. He is a Brahmin Vedic Priest from India who specialized in philosophy, science, and then Yoga. It has been his 4th visit to Nova Scotia, bringing the traditional teachings of Yoga and Sanskrit to more and more people each year. His main stays have been at the beautiful and serene Nova Nada/Birchdale Lake location near Yarmouth where Kerry Lawson, arjuna.ca , has been bringing Yogiji each year to offer week long programs of Yoga in Nature. This week I had the opportunity to take Yogiji and bring him to the station at CKDU and share his gentle voice on Yogheart Radio.

Wednesday Aug 18th, Robyn Traill joined Yogini Moon on the air to talk about how he helped to found and establish the Shambhala School in 1992, and now 17 years later, he has returned to Halifax to step into the position of Director of the Shambhala School in Halifax. Robyn also shares with us some of the music he has composed for film scores and tv shows, while talking about meditation, the effects of being conscious and aware, and what it is to be a Shambhala Buddhist.

On Wednesday July 14th, gentleman and long standing sangha member of Shambhala International, Dewi, appeared on Yogaheart Radio and thoughtfully shared the experiences that took him from Wales to Nova Scotia and his experience of Tibetan Buddhism. We go between talking about the practice and philosophy of Shambhala Buddhism, the history of the community, and how Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche brought this practice to life in the West. If you listen carefully you will hear that it is raining outside during the interview. It was truly a wonderful afternoon. Thank you Dewi!
